Ss' voices

We wish to find out how our students perceive their experience on this project, how they view it and what it has meant to them, if it has.

I completely liked this experience/experiment because this kind of activities helps us to improve our speaking, also to get rid of our shyness. So I love interacting with people from other countries to get to know more about their country and those things. I enjoyed a lot! Aarón M.

If we do this kid of confgerence we will know what people of another country think about the topic we are talking about.
Alex N.

It has been a very beautiful and funny experience because I have met wonderful people and we have practices English a lot. In fact, this summer I'm going to visit them!!!
Alba M.

I sincerely believe that the Schoolsnet project has been an amazing experience for us, to meet people from different countries and we were able to practice our English.
Vicente M.

From my point of view this kind of projects is very useful for students. In my personal case I met a really nice German girl and now we are good friends and talk almost every day. This way I can practice my English and learn new vocabulary.
Paula M.

In my opinion, this experience was amazing and useful because it gives you the opportunity to learn English and meet new people.

The Project

Schoolsnet for communication was born to fulfill our students' need for real and challenging communication spaces.

It met with a former schools and teachers' worknet which started a few years ago through a Comenius project, Europesland, and kept on as a part of its Sustainability Plan. We did enjoy our time and work together and that synergy was the spark which lit the fire and started it all.

Neighbour Primary Education Schools joined us pushing hard with their enthusiasm and boosting it.

We also needed a formal environment to provide with a frame to collect our work and we found the best on etwinning.

Booktubers

Booktubing

Students joining in this section of the project are encouraged to surf the Internet in search of models from other Booktubers which may shed some light so that they can make their own videos on books and share them with their classmates and their partners from other countries involved.
When uploaded on You tube, we'll publish a link here so that all students can add a comment or Like, etc...
Here's a place to start, Ellias is a good source of inspiration to perform the story in the book you read or Polandbananas  or Books with Emily Fox.
It has its origin in a former etwinning project we created called Read what I read which proved successful, but adapted to the new times, new ways and new technologies.

2018/19 productions can be watched here.

Audiopoems

You are also encouraged to practice your pronunciation along with enjoying English poetry. Choose a poem from Poem Hunter, practice it with its audios and record it. Upload it on Drive to share it with our European partners.
Here it goes my favourite one: No man is an island by John Donne.

econferencing

FIRST ATTEMPT. CHECK-IN

FIRST E-CONFERENCE
We're going to start our first econference with Germany. The plan is as follows.
Students from both countries work on the same topic: Criminal Age of Responsability. Suggested ideas on this link.
We had debates in groups around that topic, of which some can be seen here.
The debates were assessed using these rubrics; twice by classmates and eventually by their teacher, getting, thus, three perspectives of their work.
Our partners do the same and we set a date for an econference to put in common our conclusions.
Below is an ISSUU summary of the 1st econference and some recordings.
SECOND E-CONFERENCE
Our challenge for this third and last term is Social Networking, being the leadership taken by our German partners. We're going for it. The movie segment in The Social Network (You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies) together with the documentary The Deep Web will be our starting point. Very recently this CBSN report came to our hands, very enlightening, How Google and Facebook keep tabs on you. We'll follow the same procedure. Let's see how it turns out.
Group conclusions outcome on both documents.
Fill in one of the questions on this document to organise participation on the econf.

Below is our debates outcome.

THIRD E-CONFERENCE
We still had time for a conference with our new partner, Smøla Ungdomsskole. Great motivation input for our 3rd graders.

FOURTH E-CONFERENCE
We have this year a new sucject, Oral competence in English, aged 14. We have found partners in Hegau Gymnasium, same age and timetable.

We've made this presentation on Alicante and Spain for all our partners.

YEAR 2018/19
3rd ESO
We have started with two econferences with our 3rd graders and Smøla Ungdomsskole. Below is a summary of them.

We also held two econferences with Hegau-Gymnasium, the last one on Breaking Stereotypes, with this presentation guiding it.

2nd Bach
With our school-leavers we had a interesting debate on SPORT. Simple as it may seem, it is not so. A topic which turned very deep when dealing with ideas such as the values of sport, especially after watching the movie Invictus, which show the force of sport to put together a whole nation. Here can our debates be seen .

Skype in the classroom

This year's main aim is to enhance in the classroom the resources Skype provides for enhancing Oral Competence with speakers from all over the world. We have joined in the Microsoft Educator Community to do so. Let's see what awaits us!!!

YEAR 2021-22

Smola padlet. Students introduce themselves due to timetable mismatch. Their products can be seen here.

Keypalling

Students from 4th ESO (aged 15) and 1st Bach (aged 16) have a keypal they communicate with on a regular basis. They do it the way that suits them best (email, whatsapp or snapchat).

Fairy Tales

During this first term, our 16-year-olds have been working on Fairy Tales. They filled in this grid to decide on a the fairy tale of their choice and the school they wanted to go to. Their task has consisted on editing and adapting an original classic Fairy Tale to their audience, 6th grades from our neighbouring primary schools.
The tales could be chosen from these two links:
Fairy Tales for Kids
or
 World of Tales

They also check pronunciation from video links.

The debates were assessed using these rubrics; once by a classmate, then by the Primary School teacher, and eventually by their teacher, getting, thus, three perspectives of their work. The outcome can be seen on the right.
When preparing their tales, they can watch previous editions
here.

THE RETURN VISIT. AMERICAN TRIBES.

SCHOOLYEAR 201819
Once again we visit our Primary schools partners to tell them well-known Fairy Tales which can be seen here (1st Bach B) and here (1st Bach A).
THE RETURN VISIT. THE STATES IN THE USA.
In this tweet we can see this year's visit. We provide a real audience and they tell us their findings in their research on the topic.

SCHOOLYEAR 1920
This year we've made a new activity, overwhelmed by our Erasmus, this activity has turned out to be perfect for our current context.
